Aqara Door and Window Sensor P2 — The Contact Sensor Built for Matter
The P2 is the Thread-based successor to the classic T1 contact sensor. It connects directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant via Matter over Thread — no Aqara hub needed for basic monitoring. Scan the QR code, add to your Matter app, done.
The hardware has been updated for the Matter era: a larger CR123A battery for extended life, a programmable button on the body (function to be unlocked via OTA), and a slim profile that fits more discreetly on doors and window frames. A flat magnet plate is also included for installation flexibility on thicker surfaces.
