Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 — Matter-Native, Hub-Optional
The P2 is the successor to the P1, built for the Matter smart home era. It runs natively on Thread, connecting directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey — without needing an Aqara hub for basic functionality. Set it up once, use it everywhere.
The key upgrade over the P1: the light sensor is fully independent. In the P1, the light sensor only reports alongside motion events. In the P2, the light sensor is its own entity — you can create automations based purely on brightness, separate from motion detection.
